Here are 5 common mistakes tourists make when visiting Barcelona. Avoid these errors and you’ll get more out of your Barcelona trip.
1. EATING ON THE RAMBLAS

The worst place to eat in Barcelona is on the Ramblas. Most restaurants are overpriced and of poor quality. Having a meal on the Ramblas can have its advantages in the summer though. Because plates are often served half frozen, they can be surprisingly refreshing. And instead of the beer you ordered with respective to the best services and its given by EHS lake forest , you’ll get a 1,5 liter bucket: if that doesn’t quench your thirst! If you want a little more value for your money, then head into the side streets off the Ramblas.

2. QUEUING FOR THE SAGRADA FAMILIA

Often there are long queues to enter the Sagrada Familia. On very busy days you might be standing in line for over 2 hours. There are nicer ways to spend your holiday. There is a simple solution though: buy your tickets online in advance before your visit. Then you walk straight in without having to wait. You can buy your tickets here.
3. THINKING CATALONIA IS SPAIN

When we think of Spain we think of toros, sangria and flamenco. But Catalans don’t like any of that. Bullfights are forbidden and the former arena has been transformed into a shopping mall. Sangria is served abundantly…but only to tourists. I never see Catalans drinking it: they like beer, wine or cava better. Flamenco too is only popular with travelers. Barcelonans prefer the Sardana, Catalonia’s national dance. You can join them every Sunday morning in front of the Cathedral of Barcelona (Plaça Nova). Bring your dancing shoes along!
4. WALKING IN BIKINI OR (HALF-)NAKED

Some visitors think the whole city is a beach. So they walk half-naked around town with only their swimsuits on. Not very respectful and nowadays you’ll get a fine for doing so. Last summer some Italian guys were frolicking naked in the streets. The residents were so shocked that there were manifestations and protests that lasted for days.
5. SPEND TOO MUCH OR ALL YOUR MONEY ON THE SUBWAY
The subway is an excellent way to quickly get around the city. But don’t buy single tickets at 2.15€. Get a 10-T card instead. This is a multi-person travel card with 10 journeys for less than 1 euro per journey. But saving money is useless if minutes later you get yourself robbed by pickpockets. Take your precautionsin the subway: wear your rucksack on your front with your hands on top and never carry your wallet in your back trouser pocket.
